If you had your pick this year in a standard scoring league with 14 members, where would you pick?

My thoughts are either Pick #5 to get elite RB and a good WR1 or wait until around pick 10 to get elite WR/QB.

Who are you taking with the 5th pick? Eddie Lacy, Calvin Johnson or Peyton Manning?

Non-PPR, I wouldn't be able to take a RB at 5 if AP and Charles are off the board. MAYBE Lynch, but I would go heavy with WR's. Especially beacuse you would still have a very good shot at getting Calvin Johnson or the equivalent.

I'm thinking I would prefer slot 4. The top 4 guys all seem to be about equal and while Calvin is great, RB is more critical to me. I guess I could take Lacy at #5 and get my second pick earlier, but who knows.

This is a QB crazy league where some guys take 3 QB, so I'll have to get one earlier than usual, but I expect Brees and Manning to go Top 7. This means picks 8 and 9 are enticing if Lacy or even Forte drop that far. Thoughts?

There's no way I would take Lacy in top 5. If you know that guys are going to go QB heavy, take one in the first round and let them battle it out with the remaining QBs and start snatching up the available skill positions. My only complaint about non PPR leagues is that RBs don't hold THAT much value in them. in a PPR league, RBs run the show. In non-PPR, you have to have a RB that will get 25-30 carries a game and crack 100 yards on a constant basis. However, with concussion/injury concerns you see way more RB by committee approaches. So even if your RB cracks 100 yards, he may never see the end zone.

Not to thread hi-jack, but being pick 5 in a .5 PPR you gotta go the best available out of AP, McCoy, Charles, Calvin Johnson, and Forte right? The 4 pick told me he is taking CJ, so I should get Forte right?

I think Lacy at #5 or later in a non-ppr is ideal. I would not pick a QB early unless you can play 2 despite what others in your league are doing.

I've never been high on Forte, so i've always stayed away from him. Honestly, I would take Lynch before I took Forte. Chicago has the possibility of playing from behind more than playing ahead. Meanwhile, Seattle will be playing from out in front which means keeping the ball on the ground in Lynch's hands. Plus Lynch can catch screens as well.

That's pretty much where I'm at, too.

I think you have it backwards. WR are more valuable in PPR.

I had Forte last year and he was a stud. He is getting a lot of mileage on him, though. I don't trust anything about Lynch this year and will stay far away from him.

I know Jimmy Graham is going high, but I just can't make myself draft a TE that early. If I get the 7-9 pick, I'm either going with Bryant, Foster or Ball.

You've got it backwards my friend. A WR 9.9999 times out of 10 will only gain their points from receiving a pass. Meanwhile a RB gets the same amount of points per catch as a WR, but also gains points from rushing yards, rushing TDs, as well as reception TDs. Although it also depends on the team your RB plays for. A Jamal Charles will be infinitely more valuable over a Victor Cruz, but maybe not as much (if at all) over a Calvin Johnson.

Don't typical WR only get 5-7 catches per game whereas most RB get 1-3 if any? How many points are Receiving yards worth in your league? In ours, WR and RB score exactly the same. I'm not sure if that's standard or not.
