Seems as everyday, more and more players are getting suspended and or injured from their team. Hard to even keep up with who all is out. Which player out do you think will impact their team the most? Frank Shannon may possibly be the biggest so far for OU

Nic Marshall's suspension is huge. I mean he isn't going to "start" against Arkansas. That is such a huge blow. I mean Auburn might not score on their first possession or two.

I actually think Arky can keep this game some what competitive. Specially if they can get off to a fast start while Marshall is still on the bench

Oh yeah I agree I think Arkansas will keep it relatively competitive. I am actually going to bet Arkansas +21.

I think that is too many points with what Auburn lost on both sides of the ball and the fact that Marshall will be suspended for some of the game.

Last year it was only an 18 point game.

Same here. I like the 21. I wish we could make a thread just to talk about week 1 already

Do it. I would be all up in that thread. I have already made most of my week 1 bets. I'm so ready for it to be here.

I guess I haven't made ALL of my bets since first half lines aren't out yet. I will be betting Baylor, Marshall and probably a couple others there. Damnit I can't wait. It's almost here.

I think Clemson suspending 4 players is huge vs UGA as well. I kinda liked UGA to begin but that makes it a lil more tempting

I like Marshall and Baylor as well. Possibly Baylor 1H. Looking at OU, UF, Moo St, UGA, and Nebraska. I love Tulsa

Wow. Hadn't even heard about Clemson suspending 4 guys. Yeah UGA could become a real attractive pick now.

I also think I like West Virginia against Bama. +26 is a lot of points and I think Bama lost a lot. West Virginia isn't great, but I just don't see Bama coming out clicking on all cylinders on offense in week 1. I think 4 TDs is a lot.

I love this one. Southern Miss is so terrible and should still be a great team to fade. MSU should win by 40+

I just thought it would be nice to have a thread to talk about the games for us bettors and try to keep up with suspensions and injuries as that could change you mind about a pick.
Just to get rid of my itch to discuss football

You already made most of your week 1 bets knowing all the suspensions and injuries that will pop up between then?

Florida State -17.5 is probably going to be my big Week 1 play

On the surface it looks like a square play but OKST lost a lot from last year and will not be good this year. FLST is not a team you want to face in Game 1, especially for a rebuilding young team like OKST

I really liked FSU when it first came out but i keep second guessing myself on it. It just looks like a terrible play is the thing that scares me. But your right, Winston should have no trouble torching their secondary. The cowboys lost 5 starters in the secondary and that could be the edge that FSU exploits

I would def not make that bet, especially in week 1. LOTS of better options out there

What?

You've already put your bets in when you know there are always suspensions and injuries right before game 1. Say you take FSU -17.5 and then Jameis tweaks a hammy over the next couple weeks? Or gets suspended for doing yet another stupid thing....then what?

There are games that I like regardless of what happens in the next 2 weeks. I like:

Marshall -24
Houston -12
Arkansas +21
West Virginia +26
Baylor -33

Barring those teams getting in an accident and losing half their football team I will still like those teams to perform.
