Hey guys,

I don't post much but I was curious how others felt about what would constitute a successful season this year.

My thought is that 10 games is always a special year and that is the top end of what I would hope for this year. If we beat Wisconsin, and go 2/3 with Auburn, FLA and Alabama it could be even better but that will be tough.

For me, it would be a disappointment for us to end the season and not be 1 of the 4 playoff teams.

I think there are like 3 other threads about this very same topic. You could start by reading those.

You've got to be realistic. We're breaking in a new QB, lost our two stud WRs and RB, and lost both starting DTs. Plus a very tough schedule.

10-2 would be a great result for us. 9-3 is more likely. 8-4 is possible.

9-3 would be my prediction. Anything more than 9 wins would be a welcomed surprise.

Totally agree with this.

How do you know that? The guy has only had 3 posts. We may be looking at a budding Heung Soro, Supahtigah, or other "great" that's just now spreading his wings, only to be run off by your insensitive and unwarranted comment.

Are you clairvoyant? Really, I'm curious about why you responded the way you did, so I'd ask you this.....How do you know that a guy with 3 posts needs to post less? Sure, his topic has been discussed prior to his OP. Sure, he could have used the search feature, and found out what other posters think our season will be like. But that said, his post was pretty much grammatically correct. He didn't misspell anything. He didn't flame anyone. He asked a question. Which brings me back to my question.

How do you know that guy with 3 posts needs to post less? Was it a case of "READY! FIRE! AIM!", in that your response just wasn't well thought out? Was it habit - just making a dickish response, when you've got nothing positive to ad? Or were you truly that flustered by the asking of a question that's already been discussed ad nauseam?

This is an open forum message board, and I understand that you've got the right to be a dick (jokingly), be a dick (for real), or, absent the presence of flames or porn, you can post pretty much whatever you want. So don't confuse my question with an assertion that your "Thank God" post was inappropriate. I'm genuinely curious to know if you believe that the asking of an "already asked and discussed question", buy a new poster nonetheless, gives you enough information to give an opinion on someone's future posts.

I apologize if there are other similar threads. Not a very welcoming board :(

Thanks to those who had my back or answered the question. Here's to a good season in either case. I'll go back to lurking now.
