Good news for satellite net users

I have exede and while the speed is better than I expected, the cap does suck. This is great news.

I'll run another test when I get home but way better than what I expected. Downloading on steam I pull 2.5/3 mbps.

1) Better than the alternative for me.
2) It isn't that bad. I don't game online much. The only problem I've run into is the cap...which will now be a thing of the past.

Which is why everyone who has alternatives buys it?

My family has a place in Amite that is using a Verizon 4G wireless thingy. Just used speedtest.net and got 23Mbps d/l, 99ms ping (that seems pretty good for wireless). I don't know what they're paying, but I know they only get ~12gigs per month before it shuts off. Would this Exede service give them good enough speeds to stream Netflix HD? Is it fairly reliable or does it have frequent outages (the Verizon setup they has yet to crap out over ~4 months of use). I know that they're happy with the Verizon service, but having free use of the Roku would be a massive benefit for them.

ETA: Nevermind, looks like the service is universally hated.

I can only speak to my experience and my dad's. He has zero problems where he lives. He's about 40 minutes from me. I have zero issues myself. Ideally I would love to have cable again but exede has been great for what it is. Customer support can be hit or miss but has improved big time in the last 2-3 months.

It isn't the best thing on earth, but they have surpassed my expectations. Streaming isn't bad but I don't do it often due to the cap.

my company sells exede. they don't try to compete with people who have cable or fiber

its for rural customers and its on fire right now. its a great product and most of the areas in Texas and Louisiana are seeing 20/25 mb down and around 2-3 up.

not awful considering what your options were 5 years ago. their new satellite launches next year and will be able to offer 1 GB down.

BTW I could be wrong but our exede rep told me that this will not include Netflix, hulu, amazon prime and HBO Go, etc.

those sites will not count towards the unlimited. I hope im wrong. I will double check and post back.

Yup. That's about what I usually pull. For what it is, it is great.

I called customer service about something unrelated, and she had not heard of this plan....will this only offered in certain areas?
