My wife's phone has all her contacts saved "to device" instead of google. Is there a way to to save them to google all at once or will I have to go one by one? Tia

not sure. i've looked and hope someone else could help you. i'd love to know the answer also.
but for time being you could download Go Contacts and do a full back up of her contacts through that. would be saved to her SD card instead of Google, but still a backup
EDIT: nevermind you can back the contacts up through the people app. i seem to remember not being able to to do this at some point, can now though

You should be able to export all contacts to SD card as a .vcf file. Then on a computer, go to gmail -> contacts -> more -> import and import the file. You may need to select more again to find and merge any duplicates
**eta**
you can just move the .vcf to something like google drive

Got it. Had to export contacts to SD, then Import... When importing them back it gives you the option to import them to google.
