It's been a few years, but from what I remember, all of the restaurants are clustered in the area right as you come off the bridge onto the island. There isn't really a lot of choices, but I recall eating at a seafood place on the beach. It wasn't what I would call "fine dining", but it looked like the nicest place on the island. If I recall, there was a pizza place, a deli, and a couple of other casual spots - probably about 1/2 dozen in all.
I guess what I'm saying is that your GF will probably be able to evaluate the restaurant scene in about 10 minutes, once she gets on the island. I don't think there's much to it, although that could have changed.

not sure about the restaurant scene 'cause we don't dine out much at the beach but SGI is great. 30A has gotten out of control and is nothing like it was 5 - 10 years ago. SGI is basically the new 30A at least until the crowds find it too. Enjoy

This is the correct answer. Lots of good places there. Owl Cafe is really good. Decent beer selection for the area too.
