Give him a rationed share based on his weight compared to giving a human 1 pill.

I'm pretty sure they can get prescribed it, albeit in a much lower dosage.

Yes, vets prescribe xanax for pets.

They give dogs valium in the same class of drugs. But I'm not a vet so can't say it is safe.

Yes. When I practiced pharmacy, I would fill a script for Valium 2mg for a patient's cat. Cat had seizures.

I know of a 60-70 lb dog who has a script for 2mg bars.

If it's for thunder, just give him benedryl. Works like a charm.


I have a smaller dog, 35 pound corgi mix, and he is fine with one pill.

His sister needs a half pill though.

Start with half and work up.

Back in my day we called 1/4 of a bar a peach and 1/2 a bar a football. Give the little guy a peach.
