I thought I did something good this weekend by saving a few baby birds whose nest had fallen out of our tree by placing the birds and the nest back in its original spot. I watched as the parents got close to the birds and thought I was some kind of hero. Walked outside today to check up on them and they were dead. frick you birds for not taking care of your children, frick this system for having to baby birds die, Fwiw none of my animals(cats/dogs) bothered the birds when they were on the ground
The next day
I forget how unforgiving nature can be sometimes

Did you touch the birds when you saved them? Your scent on them could be why the parents abandoned them.

Just coming to post this. They won't go to the nest if they can smell you.

The only conclusion is that those birds are bad parents. Shoot them.

used gloves, and I thought that wasn't a real thing. It took 15 seconds if that means anything

I'm thinking about it, we have a pecan tree full of those frickers, they came at me when I put the nest on the tree. They even came at our dog. Should have unleashed the cats

From the pictures, it looks like they have the bird ebola which is not contagious to humans unless you handle their nest.........
