Yeah I know it is for the team and fans and doesn't hold much weight. The Yankees put Tino Martinez in for crying out loud....
But Griffey didn't do much for the Reds...
In 9 years with Cincy he only played 130 games twice... He averaged 23 home runs a year with the Reds and was continually injured...
His line with the Reds over 945 games played with them....
.270/.362/.514 210 home runs, 904 hits, 17 stolen bases, 533 runs, and 602 RBI

Yes. He's a hometown kid. If you ask people my age in this city, he's one of the top 3 favorite Reds

Only bc he's Ken Griffey, Jr.

Without a doubt, he hit his 400th, 500th, & 600th HR as a member of the Reds.
Guys like Sean Casey and Ron Oester are in. Jrs #s with the Reds are probably better than his father's #s and he is in the Reds HOF.

Wow, didn't realize how long he was there.

Because he only played the equivalent of like 5 seasons

Why not..... I wish he would have stayed more healthy during the last 9 years of his carreer. He would blow Bonds' #'s out of the water. BTW should Chuck Knobloch be in the Yankees HOF???

Really. I thought Martinez is a Yankee Legend? Not sure about his #'s but he was a key part to a lot of great teams.

1 All-Star Game
1 Top 10 MVP Selection
in 7 seasons for the Yankees....
Tino was at his best as a Yankee no doubt but as far as getting his name on a plaque that should not have happened. He was a solid contributor but he wasn't worthy of the selection with Graig Nettles still not having a plaque who in my opinion was a better Yankee.

Reggie was a Yankee for 5 years and a 5 Time All-Star and twice finished in the top 10 MVP award....
Also taking into account the era they played in Tino played in a hitter friendly era. Tino had 1 really outstanding season in 1997 in which is finished 2nd in the MVP.
Also not sure I would use "crush"
Martinez: 1054 games, 1039 hits, 192 home runs, .276/.347/.484
Jackson: 653 games, 661 hits, 144 home runs, .281/.371/.526

Standing in the reds hall of fame?

I always forget Griffey was with the reds

Looks like a pretty big discrepancy to me. Considering HOF's generally give nods based on longevity and production. In which Tino trumps Reggie.

Wish he never would have left the mariners
