In anticipation of Halo MCC I researched a few weeks on HDTVs input lag and found a tv with input lag that is considered great at 30ms at a decent price. Purchased the tv and brought it home. Today I hooked up my old original xbox and played some Halo 2 xbox connect and it had bad imput lag. After reading it seems like this is because the original xbox had a native resolution if 420 while my tv is 720 and the upscaling causes the lag. It seems as if when I get an xbox one if I set it to 720p the tv won't have to scale and I will have no noticeable input lag. Is this thinking correct?

You bought a new TV that's only 720p?

Yea it's just a small gaming tv. My living room tv is 1080p. Gaming tv is only 28 inches so you wouldn't be able to notice difference between 720 and 1080.

Should have grabbed a monitor then, but that's besides the point now (there's a huge difference between 720 and 1080 too).

You shouldn't have any problems with input or video lag that other LCD TVs wouldn't have. Outside of Plasmas and monitors, most TVs have little difference between input/video lag

Good God, that releases November 11th.

"Anticipation" doesn't quite describe your preparation.

That chart is why I only have my PS3 hooked up to my tv. It doesn't matter from my distance/screen size ratio.

Does plasma have better lag time?

I have an ASUS monitor with built it speakers that has an HDMI hookup. Guess it would be best to just play on that.
