Has there ever been a triology where the 3rd edition was the best of the 3?

Matrix - Certainly not

Lord of the Rings - I enjoy all 3 movies but I probably prefer the first two to the last one

Star Wars (original trilogy) - No. Because Ewoks.

Alien - 2nd one is my personal favorite

I prefer The Return of the King out of all three of that series.

3rd love...

But that's a really good question. Return of the King and Star Wars prequels are good answers. What about Rocky IV even though it's obviously not a trilogy?

If they would have stoped at just 3 Lethal Weapon 3 and Die Hard with a Vengence are both better than the first two IMO.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly out of the Dollars trilogy

Blade Trinity

I nominate Toy Story 3 for discussion purposes.

I say no because the first movie was so awesome.

Blade 1 and two were good. Blade 1 was a classic,IMO. Blade Trinity was not watchable for me. To each his own.

This is the toughest to me. I love Raiders and Crusade pretty equally

I'd have to go with this. I think it is the best of the Toy Story trilogy, but it's entirely up for debate. Toy Story and Lord of the Rings are the only 2 perfect trilogies in my mind.
