My only two options are Cox and ATT U-verse. I currently have cox so no installation or equipment fees. Plus, they offer faster speeds.

Cox - 50 Mbps - $62/month

ATT - 18 Mbps - $44 for 12 months; $62 after; $200 installation + equipment

Going with internet only, I'm no being offered much in terms of "deals". Cox seems to be the obvious answer, but I wanted the T-Board's opinion.

TIA

I recently cut the cord, cox gave me a deal with preferred internet speed for $45/month for 6 months.

I had premier at first with my cable/phone bundle, but when I cut it all out, I downgraded to preferred.

I can still do everything smoothly that I done with the higher speed.

If you're going internet-only, cox is definitely the right choice.

Also, if you split the coax connection, you can connect it to a TV and get basic cable for "free." It's technically illegal to do that, but yeah. I have cox internet and U-verse TV. In the rooms I didn't want to pay a monthly fee for a receiver, I just have basic cable.

Just got off the phone with cox...

Keeping internet preferred and they knocked me down to "Economy" cable package. I keep the DVR and HD channels. $71 for 6 months. I lose some good channels, but we didn't need them anyway which is why we're cutting. I was locked into my pricing before and had 3 months left. It would have cost me a $30 disconnect fee had I gone internet only. So this is pretty close to a wash anyway.

My biggest issue was that this took 3 phone calls before I got this deal. First guy wouldn't listen to anything I was telling him. Second was a woman who seemed confused. Finally, I got a woman who seemed to be in a really good mood and she set me up with this.

Yeah, we do this already. And I just checked... we still have those "lost" channels on those TVs.

I recently cut the cord and am getting 50 mbps download speeds with Comcast for about $58.00 a month. I'm not sure what the price will be after the 12-month introductory period is over. It's been great until this past Thursday when my Internet all of a sudden went out and Comcast told me that they can't send a technician out until Tuesday.

In non-related news ... I'm visiting my parents this weekend.

I have my laptop connected to my big TV with an HDMI cord and I bought a Chromecast and cast video to a second, smaller TV so I'll have three screens. I figure that will come in handy on Saturdays during football season.

I've had an Apple TV for 2 ears now. Between that and netflix, there's hardly anything we watch on TV now other than Mickey Mouse clubhouse
