So, the week isn't quite over, and it's mostly been typical drills and some contact, which doesn't give us the full spectrum, but there is certainly some guys that are sticking out so far....

from the video footage that I've watched and the practices that I've attended (just playing, I ain't been to a practice... just wanted to act like I really know something when I don't know crap)..... but the guy that keeps catching my eye is #33 JAMAL ADAMS.

Obviously, this is just drills and a little one on one.... but man, he looks very strong, athletic, and "ready" physically.

As for a vet, DeSean Smith, looks so dang athletic for his size... I hope he gives people fits this year!

Definitely Jamal for the freshman.

I've thought Hawkins looks great for the OL and will be an absolute road grader for us.

From some short clips I saw, Jamal Adam's hands are incredible soft for catching the football. Looks real fluid running as well.

Guess I'm not the only one who thinks Adams has looked great...

From what I see/hear, both Jamal Adams and Clifton Garrett are tearing it up.

The freshman that's been the biggest surprise is DJ Chark(#82). Watch that kid in the gauntlet drills. Very fast with soft hands. Thought his frame was too small, but he shocked me with his physicality in the big cat drill.

Garrett (Adams in a dead heat with him though, Quinn and Dupree look ahead of the game on routes)

Hunter (it's just hard to not pay attention to him)

Also, honorable mention to a guy who is about to have a much bigger responsibility....Herron.

This is a really special group of redshirt and true freshmen.

Adams will be an animal. Absolute beast.

Diarse can ball. Really like Diarse.

And I have been to a couple of practices

I also like Diarse. He's going to shock some people. He does everything well, which is why he'll be on the field a ton. I don't think he'll put up jaw dropping numbers, but he'll be a consistent part of the offense.

This board is usually focused on the new recruits, and we often forget about the guys, like Diarse, who were highly recruited the year before. Diarse was very highly rated and had a great offer list. And now he's had a year to learn and grow.

I like john diarse.
Neville kid, glad he came to LSU ... Waited his turn behind some talented guys.
His turn now to see what he can do.

Thats not very shocking. I can almost guarantee the DB (especially a safety)will win every time.

considering the Chiefs very long history of churning out NFL linebackers, its been amazing to me to see how we've struggled at recruiting elite prospects. Garrett becoming a household name in year one would be huge for us.

Everyone forgets about Ed Paris, but he's a very good DB. I'm not sure what his role on this year's team will be, but he'll see the field. The guy is just a straight up football player.
