They worship Satan:

quote:

Yazidi accounts of creation differ from that of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. They believe that God first created Tawûsê Melek from his own illumination (Ronahî) and the other six archangels were created later. God ordered Tawûsê Melek not to bow to other beings. Then God created the other archangels and ordered them to bring him dust (Ax) from the Earth (Erd) and build the body of Adam. Then God gave life to Adam from his own breath and instructed all archangels to bow to Adam. The archangels obeyed except for Tawûsê Melek. In answer to God, Tawûsê Melek replied, "How can I submit to another being! I am from your illumination while Adam is made of dust." Then God praised him and made him the leader of all angels and his deputy on the Earth. (This likely furthers what some see as a connection to the Islamic Shaytan, as according to the Quran he too refused to bow to Adam at God's command, though in this case it is seen as being a sign of Shaytan's sinful pride.)

waiting for Alex Jones to tell me what to think about this.

Umm, not quite

quote:

The Yazidi believe in God as creator of the world, which he placed under the care of seven "holy beings" or angels, the "chief" (archangel) of whom is Melek Taus, the "Peacock Angel." In Zoroastrian-like tradition, the Peacock Angel embodied humanity's potential for both good (light) and bad (dark) acts, and due to pride temporarily fell from God's favor, before his remorseful tears extinguished the fires of his hellish prison and he reconciled with God. Newer monotheistic religions wrongly re-cast the Peacock Angel as the unredeemed evil deity Satan, which incited centuries of prejudicial persecution of the Yazidi as so-called "devil worshippers" by followers of these later religions.

Kind of interesting actually.

I don't see anything about satanic worship in that body of words. Do you have any links or references?

It's solid. Paradoxical...but philosophically sound.

whats wrong with that stuff?
They are pretty cool to say the least. the ME minorities like the yazidiz and the druze call themselves Islam due to the fear of persecution. they have nothing to do with ISlam

It's because the Yazidi name for their main focus of worship is shaytan, the same name Islam uses for Satan. Also, both religions feature the exact same origin story for him only the Yazidi worship him for refusing to bow before Adam while in Islam Allah casts him out due to that refusal.

ETA: It's actually very interesting. Yesterday, I did a little bit of reading up on the Yazidi because they've been in the news and I knew nothing about them.
