Confirmed: Diskerud had a deal done with @ColumbusCrew and last minute "requests" from father has put that deal in serious serious jeopardy.

This deal had better have gotten done in time. As already stated, I'll be really pissed if his dad has screwed up a transfer for the second year in a row.

What's the backstory on his dad getting in the way?

No, this is terrible.

His dad is his agent and keeps asking for too much money.

I mean why shouldn't Mix get big dollar DP money? MLS has set this standard and now players will hold them to it if they make the move.

They DID offer him big dollar DP money. He wanted more than that.

Mix Diskerud is on $300+k in Norway and was offered in $1m/year range from @ColumbusCrew. Not sure I'm seeing the problem you?!

as in how much?

This is the path the MLS chose overpaying older guys from Europe. So of course a player in his prime coming home wants to get paid a lot more while playing in a better league than he was in.

Mix could have made that playing for Celtic if he went there.

1 million isn't a big money move in his camps eyes.

Obviously.

That would've made him roughly a Top 10 paid player in the league. I'd call that big DP money.

It's probably more than what he's earned so far.

That's less than what Edu makes at the Union. And we all know Bradley is on 6.5 million in Toronto. Shouldn't get Bradley money but don't know that Bradley should make 6.5 times what he's being offered either.

Well its clear he wants an incentive for going to the states. Remember he grew up overseas so if he could make the same or more in Europe once he switches leagues he might be wanted to see the MLS pony up.
