ok, so maybe pro bowls aren't the best way to classify WR talent

but are you really going to say Brees is in a worse situation WR wise than Cam?

I'm more doubting his ability to make the correct reads and get the ball to the receiver on time. I think he makes up for the inability to find holes in the defense as the play progresses by muscling the ball in once a window opens. Kaepernick does the same thing. That is where Peyton and Brees excel (and even Russell Wilson to an extent; which is why I'm so high on him). They can see the window before it opens. Cam waits on the window to open and then muscles it in.

Just what I see when I watch him play.

I was with you until you edited to add Russell Wilson. I'm not a stats person, but I believe he and Cam have similar numbers with Wilson having a huge supporting cast advantage over Cam.

Also, I think he could learn to improve his reads given the time and coaching. I don't know that he could dissect a defense like Peyton but I think his scrambling abilities and arm strength would work well in NO's system. Think about Cam at Auburn and how that would translate to playing Sean Payton's offense? Cam having the protection of Brees and WR who work to make plays would be lethal

Not reading 9 pages, but I don't think that'll work on a Louisiana-based site, as much as I'd like it to.

This has nothing to do with being right all the time. It has to do with you being a clueless Carolina homer.

ok, so besides the Pro Bowl angle that blew up in my face, could you share a little more about how great the receiving corps has been during Cam's time in Charlotte?

thanks

Re Russell Wilson

While his numbers are better than Cam's, I'm basing my opinion on what I see on film. He throws a better ball than Cam and makes better decisions. He's just smooth at the helm. I don't get that feeling from Cam.

And while I don't really want my QB to scramble that much, Wilson ran just as well as Cam in 2013.

A great QB makes his WR'S better. The Saints don't have an all-star cast at the WR position. Brees just makes them look that way. Just like Manning and Rogers, and Brady, and so on. Ya get it now??

Even the great QBs are impacted when their receiving corp is bad. See Tom Brady last season.

We do this year. Last year our receivers were shite due to injuries and Brees was clearly impacted by it.

Yet he still threw for 5k yards, completing 68.6% of his passes, and 39 TDs.

yeah the stats look nice and pretty but you gotta admit our offense wasn't its usual potent self last year. our stagnant offense cost us a few games last year

yeah, the top five QBs in the NFL can easily throw their receivers open

the rest need their receivers to get some space in order to get a clean look and to actually catch the ball when it hits them in the hands

when you have a #2 like Lafell who drops about half the passes that hit him in the hands some games, it doesn't do much for your QB

as good as Ginn was at getting behind defenders, he had some really big drops where he was wide open heading to the house

Manning, Rogers, Brady and Brees can make their receivers better for a reason- they're the best in the game. you really expect every NFL QB to be able to do the same on a consistent basis?
