Our waiter tonight wasn't that bad. Forgot to bring my pre meal salad. Then never came back and asked if I wanted a second cocktail. I usually tip just over 20% but tonight it got lowered to 15%.

Had this customer tonight who was a prick.

I refused to bring him his house salad(extra ranch. Of course. Fatass). And then he got pissed when the bartender cut him off( he was a lightweight. One Cosmo put him over).

fricker stiffed me too.

When my son was about 7-8 weeks old me and the wife took him out to eat with us. He was sleeping in his baby carrier and the waitress (a blond about 18, sorry no pics) walks up to the table looks at him in the carrier and says "Awe......he's so cute! Did he open his eyes yet?

My cuz said that the day his daughter was born. " She's gonna be smart. Her eyes are already open!"

I ordered a bottle of wine at an asian place in Cleveland. The waitress obviously had not been trained in this aspect of table service.

She fumbled over the bottle for a bit almost to the point of dropping it. I asked her if I could try and she immediately handed the bottle over. I showed her how to properly uncork the wine. She seemed genuinely appreciative.

I took my corkage fee off her tip.

MANY year ago we went to a champagne brunch at Calendars. Asked for a no smoking table and the waitress seats us next to smokers. We were literally the only two occupied tables in the restaurant. She happily told us that we were on one side of the divide and they were on the other. We just got up and moved ourselves.

Later we asked for one more glass of champagne before noon when the free champagne ended. This was at 11:45. She came by at 12:02 and apologized for forgetting but now it was after noon so she couldn't give us the champagne anymore. The manager saw what was happening and brought us a bottle.

Possibly so but all the training in the world can't fix stupid. Sometimes bad service starts at the home.

In high school I went to hooters with a couple friends and when the check came we paid out own checks and my friend paid cash

She comes back with the (literal) change. It was like 7 cents or something and my friend jokingly said "oh no you can keep that"

She FREAKED out. Caused a huge scene and says "UM NO I DONT NEED THAT shite" and throws it back on the table and storms off to bitch about it to 20 other waitresses

My friend was literally pulling out more money to tip with as this was happening

We were kids so we didn't say anything but I probably would if something like that happened today

Ok. This is OT of the OP. But I can't resist.

In the early nineties I was at a restaurant in Dallas. The party next to us kept sending back the wine and steaks, like three times each. Real a holes. So my buddy and I give the waiter 100 bucks to run down the street, buy a bottle of Manischevitz (wino wine), and present it to them with our compliments. He did it, just as we were walking out.

One of the two guys in the a hole party comes out screaming at us, threatening to fight us. We just stared at him until he turned tail. That ahole's name? Wait for it . . . . Mark Cuban. Swear to God.
