Is there a way to spy on someone without an app?

My sister's bf had downloaded a tracking app on her phone. She found it and deleted it. He's still telling her when she's with her other bf in such and such area. He said he just types her phone number in some website and it tells him where she is. She says she's been through all her apps and it's none of them.

She has a galaxy 3. I said maybe there's an invisible app

Probably android lost.

It can be deleted by doing s factory reset unless he was smart enough to bake a custom ROM on her phone so that it comes back with the factory image.

I doubt he's that smart. Tell her to do a factory reset and change her email account password because he can reinstall it remotely on her device if he knows her email account.

She might end up having to change her email account on her phone if he set up the website to allow his phone number as a trusted remote install id.

What a creep.

shite. That's nothing. The bf who did all this is her "baby daddy" although she got pregnant while he was in jail

CAD, that was the app that she'd previously found and deleted. I told her how to get rid of it

More like an OT thread than a Tech Board thread

And people don't think cad knows what he's talking about.

Now stop fricking deleting my threads on the ot and we'll be square, Paige.

Obviously your sister doesn't mind him stalking her by phone and remotely reading her texts because if she did she'd go to the cops. If he has been in jail he is probably still on some sort of probation or parole.

i would consult the police or an attorney to keep that staker away from her.

I think when you go to delete it, it doesn't actually delete it. It hides it. Go to the play store and look at "my apps" and look for "Android Lost." Another thing to do it go to the app manager in services and scroll to "all running" and look for it. You can force stop and disable it there I would think.

You can unhide the package by going to LINK and clicking on "hide/display package". Please remember to restart the phone as stated on the website!

the problem with 'android lost' (i have it so i know lots about it) is that it can be reomtely re-installed by a 'trusted' cellphone number.

so it doesn't matter how many times she uninstalls it..she can uninstall until she's blue in the face and he will just send a text to her phone to install it again.

the only way is to regain control over her phone and she will either need to login to that website herself with her email and remove 'trusted' phone numbers (if she even knows how) or she should factory-reset her phone and change her email.

i seriously doubt this dumb redneck is smart enough to bake a factory image on her phone with this functionality built-in but he thinks he's clever as frick because he can reinstall it from his phone number via SMS.
