ISIS take the Mosul Dam, the largest in Iraq, one of the most dangerous in world

CNN
It's a hydrostatic Dam that produces a hell of a lot of electricity for major urban areas, but that isn't even the big issue. The damn would put the entire city of Mosul (30 miles away) with over a million and a half people under 60 feet of water. The water wouldn't stop there. It would also destroy Baghdad (280 miles away).
This is bad. Really bad.
If I'm Masum, I don't let something like this fall. This group has already showed they don't give a flying frick. I can't think if you are the President and have a single troop left, you wouldn't be making sure something as significant as this doesn't get turned over. I mean I can see the tomb of Jonah, but a Dam that can wipe out a city of 1.5 mill and another in Baghdad of over 7 mill just like that, not counting the other cities along the Tigris.
US needs to turn these ISIS strongholds radioactive Yahweh speed!

Why should I care if cities populated by dangerous Muslims are destroyed by water? It is, quite literally, the washing away of a disgusting religion that is a huge threat to natural law and natural rights.

I didn't say you had to care...... I'm sure the 9 million combined in the 2 cities I mentioned are all ISIS loving, suicide bombing, jihadist praising people..... Nothing to see hear...

I'm sure you won't get the moral reaction that your looking for on the Poliboard. As evil as it sounds majority of them wish death on all life in the Middle East.

Would be devastating if the water was turned loose or maybe a better ploy would be to just control the power feeding the grid to gain control.

There is really good fishing below hydro dams. Maybe the boys just needed something to do on their downtime. You know, when they're not slaughtering Christians and fellow Hadjis and all............

It's been forgotten because it is going to shite under Obama's watch.
And, no, I am not saying everything was wine and caviar in Iraq under GWB, but there's little question that GWB left Iraq in a much better posture than it is under BHO.

This is what they're really doing. Baghdad is being besieged. The Islamic State lacks the manpower to conquer and occupy Baghdad since the city is majority Shiite and the vast majority of the Iraqi army is dug in defending the city. ISIS has been systematically encircling the city, gradually cutting off its supply lines and taking over surrounding power plants. With the dam now under their control, they can cut the power to Baghdad and then threaten to flood the city if the Iraqi government does not surrender.
The Iraqi government was hoping that they could stall ISIS long enough to hold a new election and put in place some reforms that would give the Sunni and Kurdish minorities more representation and a larger voice in government, hoping to erode ISIS's broad civilian support in the northern and western provinces. However, if ISIS can force the government to surrender beforehand, ISIS can gain full control of the south and north west, full control over Iraq's military hardware, and then possibly turn their attention to the Kurds in the north east with a now larger, better equipped, and emboldened force.

It would be a travesty if they blew the dam.
All that good water would be contaminated
