Let's talk Marshawn Lynch

Where is this Christine Michael hype coming from? I mean, have coaches or people TRULY in the know actually hinted at this guy getting more time?
He hasn't shown signs of decline yet and isn't even 30 (or 29).
He's a monster, size-wize. He is a sturdy, muscular "beast" of a ballcarrier.
Russell Wilson will either 1) Take a jump in passing efficiency/attempts - which makes it easier for Lynch or 2) Stay the same/get worse which leads to more carries.
The only reason I'm even contemplating being worried about Lynch is because it seems like the hot fantasy topic that he's gonna disappoint.

I watched Michael all throughout college and was never very impressed. He has all the measurable you would want but he just doesn't seem to put it together on the field. Also, despite his horrible super bowl performance, Lynch was great in the playoffs last year.
I think the only concern is that Seattle is probably not going to keep Lynch next year (huge salary cap hit) so they will starting trying out both Turbin and Michael to see how those guys respond and if they are viable replacements, and in doing so will decrease the touches Marshawn gets.

I have no idea where it's coming from. I'd have no problem drafting Lynch at 5, before Lacy. Now in a dynasty/keeper league I think his status takes a significant hit, but as far as just next year goes, I think he's a perfectly viable option.
I have no idea where the Michael hype has come from. Turbin got most of the backup carries last year. And even if Michael and/or turbin steal carries, the Seahwaks ran the ball 500 times last year. I'd be shocked if, at worst, Lynch doesn't get at least 250 carries.

Michael had hype last year, and barely saw the field. I've got the 7th pick in my draft and am really hoping Lynch falls to me. I'd be more afraid of McCoy or Charles declining, or not matching their last year's performance, than I would Lynch. He's a much safer pick than the others, IMO. Even if Michael does see some field action, it won't be on goal line carries and Seattle's offense still runs through their ground game. Lynch will get plenty of touches either way. They didn't just give him an extra $1M/year to not fully utilize him, IMO.

There is a strong correlation between backs that avg 300 carries for 3 straight years and breaking down the next season. There is also strong correlation for backs around age 30 breaking down.

That's fine, I'd say that looked like a mixed bag of successess and failures. If I'm sitting at the Ned of the first, I hope there are people like you in my draft (not saying you're wrong tho, because we really don't know), so I can snag a top 4-7 RB.

I have downgraded Lynch due to Lynch himself (ie the workload, complacency, etc)
Michael will be the beneficiary IMO, but it's not like he'll be the cause of Lynch's potential decline.

The team just gave him like a 1.5 million dollar raise. If they thought he was on the verge of crumbling and loved Michael so much, they would have let him sit out.
I had Marshawn last year and he was consistent as hell for the most part. With the way that team is built to play, Marshawn should be in a good position.

The only knock on lynch is Russell Wilson , 1st and goal on the one and Wilson will call 2 qb sneaks and a bootleg. Had lynch last year and the guy is a legit pick at 7

I think lynch is still a good option, but I like lacy more on a team that uses 1 rb all game long. I think lacy can put up top 3 numbers if he gets 25 touches a game. Last year he was around the 21 touches a game mark.

Is that a pun?
Lynch is going to break down at some point. Maybe it's this year, maybe it's next year. That's why you see younger guys being drafted sooner. But that doesn't mean that his resume and his situation don't justify a 1st round pick.
As for Michael, I might consider his a handcuff, but not one worthy of anything sooner than a late round pick.
