I have read several comments about how fast this kid is and could possibly play RB @ LSU. Any ideas or comments if this will actually happen or does he stay a FB? ANY way he switches to LB? I mean if he is as fast as some people say wouldn't he be a pretty legit LB with that size and speed.

I don't think people realize how hard it is to just change positions in college. If you ask me he's staying at FB/RB.

I guess it is possible, especially seeing how many running backs it seems that we could potentially have on the team. I believe, however, that if there was interest in switching him to linebacker the coaches would have already discussed this with him and we would have somehow known this information already from an interview or what have you.

It may be hard but it has happened before, he definitely has the physical tools to make the switch if he wanted too. And some players play both positions in high school (Lamar Louis) so if you can do both at the same time than I'm sure the switch wouldn't be too bad.

Getting Mouton makes me believe he'll be at RB.

H-Back all the way bud. His hands, speed and physicality will give us major mismatches for defenses. Him, Moton and Upchurch will allow us to run no huddle while using a power I and spread attack.
Cam is about to turn our entire O around. A ton of weapons he can use on the ground and in the air. Imagine an O that lines up in the same formations and/or personnel but can hit you in so many ways that a D can't anticipate how to line up or substitute. That's what makes Saban's defenses so great. He knows what teams run out of certain packages. You can disguise plays now and force defenses to think between plays and react during them.
You slow great athletes down by making them think and react.

He has played a handful of snaps defensively in his career.

You're going to now ask him to compete with guys like Clifton Garrett? A guy who has played the position forever. All in the SEC for that matter.

Look at how hard it was for Russell Shepherd to move from one position to another, on the same side of the ball for that matter.

It takes a long time to master a position where it becomes like second nature to you. Especially an instinctive position like LB.

This reminds me of the Stevan Ridley situation. He had lots of offers at FB and LB, but one of the main reasons he chose LSU was because we promised him that he could stay at RB.

He certainly isn't complaining with how that turned out, but anyone who saw him cracking skulls on special teams as a freshman (before he got into the RB depth chart) knows that he could have been a great linebacker. I still think he would have been a better LB than RB.

It simply depends on the person. We are talking about 18 year old kids. Do not make the assumption that one person is better than the other simply because they have played the position longer. You have no way of knowing how good Ducre could possibly be at linebacker.

That's a great comparison.

He will play tailback and line up at fullback like hilliard does at times. But, his position will be tailback, and he will be an animal.

Oh he's fast!!! Trust me he is fast, for a guy his size it's very rare actually. He's going to be a TB and I'm pretty sure we will have a pretty good FB after neighbors leaves. 6'3" 255 pounds. He's not too shabby him self. LF and Ducre will make defenses give lol can't wait until this offense is actually veteran. No way we don't win a championship. Our D is going to be scary good too. I know we have lots of DT prospects next year but we need to grab at least 2 top guys this year. I think that will make the difference.

I believe 2015 will be the year we win another championship. With all the talent LSU is bringing in I think next season will be a very very special one. Offense is going to be scary good so will the defense. I personally believe Clifton Garrett and Jamal Adams will be All Americans by time they leave LSU. Can't freaking wait to see them this year!

It would be fun to see them line up in a diamond formation for a few snaps. Run some veer out of the pistol.

Les must do a good job of selling the RB's that they will not be used up in college and that it is a good thing to be one in a stable of great RB's. They get to show their skills without taking the abuse that would at another schools as the featured back. Allowing them to be more in the tank for the pros?

After the Elite Camp it was decided, Ducre will be a RB. Mouton coming aboard just solidifies this.
