It means a lawsuit. The argument will be if that base was in the proper position George wouldn't have broken his leg.

I only watched it once because frick that, but his foot was on the base before it snapped.

It doesn't mean anything other than this being a freak accident. I imagine if you look hard enough you can find an instance where someone got injured on the base of the basket in an NBA game and they wouldn't have on the FIBA court.

The base is why his leg is broken. It was the 1st thing his foot touched.


Not saying that anything should change now, because this was just an uncommon freak injury. But the base was definitely in the way.

Yep, having the base further back would have helped. It reminds me of the gruesome Patrick Edwards injury where the cart was too close to the field. I'm not sure where liability falls though.

It was pretty much an unfortunate freak accident. The base (and cheerleaders and cameramen) are all as close or closer on some college floors.
