An American Jewish blogger who called the genocide of the Palestinian people a "responsible" and "permissible" goal has continued to defend his position on social media despite widespread criticism.

New Yorker Yochanan Gordon said there was only one way to "neutralise" Gaza and talked of "rooting out" the territory.

"5 ceasefires all breached through missiles and kidnappings. There is only one way to neutralise the threat. Wake-up!" Gordon tweeted.

"The existence of Israel and the Jewish people is at stake. How do you suggest we neutralise this threat?" he wrote.

The writer's opinion piece - entitled "When Genocide is Permissible" - on The Times of Israel was published but then removed after criticism spread across social media.

Opposite the editorial is going to opposite the editorial

Actually I don't see the problem, why pull the piece? Let a man have his opinion. No one is making anyone agree with it.

i'm assuming that logic goes both ways and you're ok with Hamas's mission to eliminate Israel. Great. Got where you're coming from.

So an American Jew is now some sort of spokesperson for Israel based on an Op-Ed in a newspaper? If that is the case, then isn't a Qatari Sheik the same sort of spokesperson for Palestine based on a televised sermon? LINK
quote:

We must support our brothers (in Gaza) and pray for them, so Allah helps them. How can we not, when we witness the blessed fruits of their confrontation with the enemy? True, they are not equal in strength and their equipment is not on par with them, but Allah bestows blessings upon the weapons that our brothers have managed to produce by themselves, in order to vanquish the enemy. For the first time in the history of the abhorred country, the state of Israel, sirens are heard around the clock and over three million people flee to their hideouts. Schools, governmental departments, and airports came to a halt. When have we ever heard of such things? This is the beginning of good things to come. After today, there is no turning back. It is the duty of our nation to continue to support our brothers. Oh, Allah increase the pressure You exert upon the plundering Jews. Demonstrate upon them the miracles of Your might, for they are no match to You. Count them one by one, and kill them to the very last one. Do not spare a single one of them. Oh Allah, disperse them. Oh Lord, freeze the blood in their veins. Oh Allah, tear them asunder. Oh Allah, sow discord in their hearts. Oh Allah, do not let them prevail. Make an example of them for their allies. Oh Allah, bring down the planes of their air force, burn their infantry and sink the ships of their navy.

If only they could just eliminate each other. We would live in a happier and more peaceful world.

Tell me, Trackfan, would you have been ok with Sherman's march or the war against Civilians in the Shenandoah Valley?

Yep, anyone who doesn't agree that Israel has the right to do everything it can to "protect themselves," up to and including wiping out every single Palestinian, is basically a Nazi.

I hope both Israel and the Gaza area get wiped out. HUGE plus for humanity if that were to happen.

That war taught us that when you have a war and you win, you get to write the history and pencil yourself in as the hero and the losers as the evil bad guys.
So following that model, Israel should go ahead and win once and for all, write themselves in as the good guys and everyone else can suck it.
It's what war winners do.

I wonder how widespread the shock and anger would be if it were a pro-Palestinian writer. Anyone think that it would've made drudgereport?
