I have just started using braid and have minimal experience with it.
At Hatteras, I only use a 10 foot rod with 20 lb braid on a spin.
Anyone simply use something on their index finger?
If so, what.....vet tape, glove, or some kind of adhesive?

My palms and finger pads are like leather, I don't use anything.
If I did, I'd use medical tape, it's waterproof and the adhesive is strong.

I have no idea what you are talking about.... but, get athletic tape and adhere it directly to skin.
Medical tape, unless actually "athletic tape" isn't worth a shite.
I used it for years when I worked in a ortho trauma group.
