Alweld brand boats

My dad has an old alweld in a bass boat configuration. I think it is 18'. Very wide, fishes pretty good. The hull is solid.
The main issue with his boat is that it has an old 150 or 175 Merc on the back. This gets the bow up which acts as a sail in the wind. It wears him out trying to fish and keep the boat on "the spot."
