Guardians of the Galaxy (Spoilers thread)

I know there's a ton of GotG threads but none of them are spoiler threads from what I can see
First off I LOVED the movie and I'm not into Marvel at all. Chris Pratt was awesome, Bautista wasn't terrible, and The raccoon was funny (didn't sound much like Cooper), and Groot might have stolen the show
The best thing they did in this movie was balance the characters. I never felt any of them were useless, (I thought Groot was going to be this) it was 5 characters I cared about instead of Tony Stark and his sidekicks
The humor was spread out really nicely. They had some tense moments but could always make you laugh when it was needed. There's going to be a group of kids that in about 10 years are going to rewatch this and be like "holy shite they just made a joke about jizz"
I also got the feels a little bit at the beginning and end with Star Lord and his mother. Party's got some skills.
I thought the bad guy was a little over the top (zod ripoff) but even that paid off with the dance off scene at the end, the confusion on his face had me rolling
The story kept me interested thought out and the final scene was a very nice payoff. They took a lot of the plot from Star Wars for sure though My only problem with the end was that they left this insanely powerful object in the hands of a planet that just had it's ENTIRE army wiped out 10 minutes prior. Seems like poor logic
The soundtrack was also top notch. I knew the present was gonna be another mixtape but they still brought the feels for that scene.
All in all it was really awesome

I was holding out hope it would be something revealing who his father is. I'm not a comic reader so I don't know anything about that.

so...................
who's the 5th character?
kind of odd you left her out when talking about how none of them were useless.
I thought it was a pretty cool movie as well. Groot was the best. I liked Drax and his literalness.

The humor might go over his head, if it wasn't for his quick reflexes.

I wasted a lot of time waiting after the credit. It was funny but not something you should put at the end like that

yeah they might as well have not put anything
No point in staying.

You will all eat your words when it is revealed Howard the Duck is the key to uniting the infinity gems into the gauntlet.

I'm also really interested in this. I don't know anything about the comics but I could see him being a villian or some type of role in the plot of the sequel
Thanos seems logically like their next big bad, but I don't know if they would want to show the GotG beating Thanos before their golden gooses The Avengers do it first.

Can anyone explain how Rocket, who we just saw get yanked and thrown out of his ship by Nebula, managed to get in another ship and crash into Ronan' ship? Did I miss something?

I noticed that too, Nebula was just kind of forgotten about and Rocket found another one

That wasn't rocket who got thrown out. It was one of the blue guys henchmen
And I'm assuming nebula escaped back to thanos

I could've swore it was Starlords ship and raccoons voice

Same here. I'm taking the wife to see it on Sunday so I'll look again.

That was by far the funniest line of the whole movie. Everyone in the theater lost it at that moment

When you see the body come out of the ship I'm pretty sure it was a human
Idk maybe I'm crazy. When that part happened I didn't even think of it being rocket at all til I read y'all's responses lol.

What was the line? I loved the little jokes about footloose and Kevin bacon
And Bautista taking everything literally was hilarious

I thought it was pretty good. I could easily tell the raccoon was Cooper. I didn't care for Quill's dancing. Thought the shite was cheesy. I think the movie is geared more towards kids but definitely worth the price of admission.

I thought it was something that would be completely ridiculous in basically any other movie but they obviously don't take themselves too seriously so I thought it was perfect. That's so Andy Dwyer
