There were many of the same ships star Lord had. The Pirates all had the same.
Thanos has to get that gauntlet. I bet next gotg is about the gauntlet or another stone.

Ultron is next. I bet they bring Thanos up with this series while they do the rest and bring him in the avengers later.

I don't see them letting The GotG crew beat Thanos before the Avengers do
They have to make each sequel seem more dire than the last, so bringing in a guy that just got his arse kicked by the Guardians won't seem like a huge threat

They could throw a twist in there and have Thanos defeat the Guardians, and then the Guardians, having retreated to Star Lord's home planet, join with the Avengers when Thanos threatens Earth with the gauntlet.
Not a comic reader, so just throwing ideas against the wall. I think it could be good to have the "good guys" not win one time, which would also make Thanos more of a dire threat to the Avengers.

Didn't say gotg beating Thanos. I said they bring up Thanos up during this series. Reveal to avengers after bringing him up.

I don't think they're desperate enough for an Avengers/guardians movie. Once they look RDJ and maybe someone else and start worrying about ticket sales they'll join them together. That's phase 4 probably. But definitely not this soon.
ETA and if you're talking about GotG losing to Thanos in their own movie....then put down the pipe

Well they already "brought up" Thanos in the first one
You just can't make him the big bad in the sequel before he's the avengers villian because it's not like the GotG are going to lose in their own movie at the end, and if they win, it makes Thanos look weaker to the average viewer.

Switch it around, it also wouldn't work for the Avengers to defeat Thanos and then have the GotG also face him.

It's was completely cheesy and all but the "WE are Groot" line at the end got me feelin a little
I don't know anything about the comics so I didn't know how vital he would be so I was legit upset he got killed off for a bit
