The Rules:

1.) This is a two sided bracket. Each side contains 64 comic characters.

2.) The left side of the bracket will be Heroes the right side of the bracket will be villains.

3.) Each bracket will be comprised of 26 Marvel characters, 26 DC characters, and 12 misc comic/novel characters.

4.) Once all of the characters have been selected, the names will be entered into a random generator and spit out 1-64. The match-ups will be set regular seed style (1 vs. 64, 2 vs. 63, etc.) Please note that the number does not represent their seed, but instead the number they drew.

5.) The voting system will be a simple check mark system. You will simply select the name of the character you think would win each match-up. I will go off of the general consensus. If there is an instance where the voting for a particular match-up is close, I will open the floor for members to make their case for who should move on. I will have the final say in such situations, but I promise to be as fair and impartial as I can.

6.) All voters are asked to put bias to the side. We must assume that these match-ups are completely random (As if it is the first time each character has encountered the other character.) Hopefully this will cut down on some of the knighting... cough Batman cough...

***So it would probably be safe to say that Batman would not be walking around with the Muramasa Sword.

***In the case where you have characters who cannot be killed by normal means (Wolverine, Deadpool, Thor) then a knockout or incapacitation will count
-Hulk Vs. Thor (whoever could knock the other one out first or incapacitate)
-Wolverine Vs. Deadpool (Same)
-These are just general examples

7.) Each character will be considered to be at their peak with no additional augmentation.

***Example: Cable w/ his technorganic virus under control, or cyclops w/ full control of his optic blast. No Nova with the Worldmind & Full Nova Force or Doom with The Beyonder's powers.

8.) No God Tier Characters

Match #1
place #1: Apocalypse
place #2: Magneto

Great arguments for both villains. Still looking into it, but examples have been shown (and I realize one is not cannon) where Magneto has defeated Apocalypse. But haven't run across any examples where Apocalypse defeats Magneto.

Match #2
place #1: Darkseid
place #2: Thanos

These are two sides of the same coin. Power, strength, endurance, resistance to mental attacks, they are too equal imo. Darkseid has the Omega Beam and Omega Effect (no, not the dumb as anti-life deal). Thanos has cosmic energy blasts.
I think Darkseid wins, but barely.

Well...

Just take this into consideration for one of the matches.

or

Two examples, from two separate encounters, into two different versions.

Eh, one of those is an alternate timeline. The other is a story necessity in all honesty, Apocalypse crushes Magneto, not really close at all.

Except for the part where he didn't. Except for the part where Magneto crushes him.

You cannot use the plot tool argument here. If that is the case, then no villain would ever lose.

No "ONE" being is undefeated against Apocalypse head on, and that is Magneto.

Not even Cable could ever finish him off completely.

Apocalypse over Magneto. Magneto in the final 4 is a result of favorable match ups.

Darkseid over hanos, but I think it is the more interesting match up. I think it comes down to the use of the anti-life equation and Thanos realizing even with the infinity stones, anything he accomplishes is kind of pointless, and Death will never love him.

Ignoring the face that

Magneto has single handily brushed Apocalypse twice and shamed the almighty Thor.

I don't understand what any of this has to do with the Tournament.

Except that when Magneto has beaten Apocalypse it's because Apoc has the technorganic virus, which if your OP is correct, Apoc shouldn't suffer because that is not him at the height of his power. It's a significant weakness when he has it and he probably shouldn't have lasted this long.

When did he have a technorganic virus?

I am 99% sure he was at full strength during House of M.

I do not recall him having one in AoA. However I am not sure on this one. Can you link where this was the case?

Are you sure you are not confusing him with Cable?

ETA: Found it!
