I had an argument earlier where the chick said it's her right to know whether someone has a concealed handgun or not and that she would make decisions differently knowing someone had a concealed gun. I told her that we won't walk up to you, pull it out and wave it in your face. Didn't matter to her.

Wait, what kind of gun are we talking about? Did you tell her it wasn't going to suck itself?

That was the first mistake you made. Should have walked off right then.

I'm at a conference right now, with a NRA booth a couple of tables down.
Was talking to their rep last night. He went to a democratic conference last year that was held at a hotel that was "gun free" and had signs up at the entrances.
They still hired security.

I thought a sign was all that was needed.

At the end of the day, a lot of people genuinely believe that human beings are or CAN be civil. That's a fairy tale world. End of story. That being said, chalk me up as someone that would rather have the right to protect myself and my family against any threat. Foreign and domestic.

I could ALMOST give those idiots a little pass IF human beings didn't have families. I'm not gambling my family on an obviously foul principle/ideal.

The biggest misconception about "anti-gun" people is that they are anti-gun. They're not. They want guns. They need guns. They just dont want YOU to have guns. It's more about control than gun control.

Great argument. I've actually heard them say "Only police and military should have them."

Oh, so SOME people should have them and some people shouldn't. You trust a government run operation more than your own hands?!

It's more of a concealed carry weapon that gets cleaned every day but brought to the range only once or twice a year.

She probably thinks she should get paid as much as a man too.

Recently had this argument at work. Because when something heavy needs to be moved for example, it's "Male lifting help to ...". If I have to put my body in danger to do something that a female admittedly cannot do, I should be paid more. It's not sexist, its facts.

Anyway, back on topic: It's free will that scares anti-gun people. Not the guns themselves. They know that a gun is just a tool, no different than a hammer, but a gun is also empowering to the individual. An armed citizen will not be rounded up and forced to partake in the government sponsored re-education. So called tolerant people are only tolerant if you believe like they believe. As a patriotic American I believe you have the right to believe what ever the hell you want to believe, just dont force it on me.

This message honestly needs to be beaten over peoples' heads for a decade or longer. However long it takes. THIS is the point of loving America.

There are far more important things to get behind and lobby. Medical malpractice for one. Vehicle safety. Idk... a ton.

Where do you live?

Carrying a concealed weapon is just a good idea as long as you're trained to safely use it.

And it depends on where you go in your daily routine. My work takes me to some of the shadiest and poorest parts of the poorest state in the Union. You're gambling with your life if you don't carry.

I know you're trained, Broke. I was just making a declaratory statement.

Uneducated people tend to have extreme views on social issues.

Oh ok, I thought you were questioning my ability to safely carry a sidearm.
