No way, bro. I'm probably the least trained person on this board in tactical use of a firearm.

I've never seen that as a right anywhere? The problem is the libs want to be in control of what they feel scared of. They don't know crap about guns, so they're scared of them. They also go completely on feelings - logic and reason waved bye bye to them long ago. It does not compute.

I have a right to life and the protection of that life.

Nailed it. Flawless.

As for anti-gun people, Demon just about nailed it. Here are the most IMPORTANT two questions to ask:

1. Are you for civilian ownership of arms?

2. If no, are you for law enforcement and military ownership of arms?

If they answer "no" to 1 but "yes" to 2, you know you are dealing with an anti-gunner who trusts his or her government to a very high degree. This person truly believes the police will be there in time to protect him or her. If he or she is realistic and realizes this isn't the case but still holds true to the original opinion, this person doesn't trust him or her self with a firearm and is projecting that lack of knowledge onto you.

If a person were to answer "no" to both questions, you are dealing with a supposed pacifist. Ask this question next:

1. If someone were to threaten to harm your family (home or elsewhere) would you use a tool to protect them?

If this person says "yea, I'll grab my bat," he is cornered now:

"So you're telling me that you will use the bat to bash this person's brains in to protect your family? So in certain scenarios, lethal force is necessary and certain tools do put the advantage in your hands?"

And if the person maintains they are for no gun ownership at all and would allow his or her family to be beaten without doing anything, this person is not human. Or just a very shitty human going against primal instinct.

Didn't read much of the thread.

Some antigunners can be converted by a good conversation and most importantly by taking them shooting! We are the 'face' of gun ownership for many people.

Wisdom right here. Level-headed discussion and a fun trip to the range can do wonders.

Yep...

My 12yo daughter has a friend that's parents are died in the wool Democrats and are pacifist as all get out...they are extremely liberal and they let there daughter make most of her own decisions...good or bad...

the parents trust us without question and since they basically have been best friends since kindergarten and they practically are at each others house all the time...

long story short, my daughter asked if she could bring her friend to Honey Island shooting range with us in front of the daughter and mother...I explained that I was a Range Safety Officer and a LA Hunter Education Instructor, and she replied her daughter would be allowed to make her own decision...

took her to the range and she used the 15-22 to obliterate the squirrels and even shot a round of skeet...

after returning home She asked both myself and her Mom if she could go to the range next time we went...

Gentlemen, We have a convert!
