Anyone use an Ipad instead of Garmin, Lowrance, etc.?

Too hard to see out there. If I could adjust the contrast and brightness in Google Earth, I would use it to supplement the GPS in a second.

A buddy of mine uses it for navigation through the Navionics app. You pre-load the maps you wanna use so it requires no data. Then you have to get a GPS receiver. He bought the one from "Bad Elf".

He likes it, but says sometimes the glare is a beast off of that screen.

I wouldnt rely on it as my only cartplotter, but I would do this.

My phone has offline maps, so I use it a lot.
