How do waivers work in an auction draft league?

Is it different than if you did a snake draft?
Do you have to use any leftover draft money that you have to pick up players on waivers?

Teams will have a specific budget with which they can make player acquisitions, and all acquisitions will be done in batches one or more times each week.
If a team would like to add a player, that team will secretly bid a certain amount. On the next waiver process day, the team with the highest bid will be awarded the player, and the bid will be subtracted from that team's budget.

What Gyno said. We get $100 to use for the season to bid on waiver wire players. Keep in mind you can bid $0 and if no one bids on the player then you can pick them up.

Is that a fluid $100 budget like a salary cap?
Let's say I bid on a guy on waivers and get him for $2. If I drop him two weeks later, do I get that $2 back, bringing me back to $100?

No. Once you win a bid for a player, the money's gone.

I know, I know. It's my first time doing one and I am trying to plan accordingly.

I'm not sure about ESPN but I know you can bid $0 on Yahoo

Yes, you can bid $0 on ESPN also.

This isn't really specific to auction draft leagues. I've used this method for snake draft leagues, and I've used regular waivers for an auction league.
