Looking like my truck is down for the count and have been checking out Texas Direct Auto after my dad suggested it.

Anyone ever bought a vehicle through them and care to share their experience or have any advice?

really appreciate it

Make them give you two sets of keys for your vehicle. they will try to tell you they only have one, but they really have more, they just want to sell the extras on ebay or something. They will do this with other things as well, like floormats.

Yeah, they have a smooth operation. I bought my wifes Navigator from them a couple of years ago, and saved thousands on it.

They usually advertise good prices, and don't budge much.

My brother got his Tahoe there. They are interested in moving volumes instead of making a mint on the price so that is how they keep their inventory fresh and prices low.

He got a pretty good deal on it too. It's two former (Dell maybe?) computer nerds who started it and I think they have the largest inventory in the nation.

I bought one two years ago. They handle everything and were great to work with.

You got worked. they had the spare key, just didn't want to give it to you so they could make more money off it.

I have done it. They do make it very simple.

I had a VW toruag some issues started popping up. Took it to VW to get looked at. They said the repairs were $5k plus. Frustrating because i kept up with maintenance. Offer me very little on trade in.

Took it down the street to TDA. They gave more than double what VW was giving me on trade in.

Afraid for them to get wise on the issue with my VW i quickly did a deal for a clean almost new Jeep Grand Cherokee, same day. I feel like I came out ahead.

My navigator had 2 keys and the fobs. Wireless headphones were with it as well. They couldn't find the Navigation CD, so they ordered one from Lincoln and had it shipped to my house.

They made sure everything was right, but they aren't the type to babysit you through the deal.

I never laid eyes on my salesman. I talked to him over the phone, but when I got to the dealer, I spoke with the receptionist, and after I drove the vehicle, I spoke with the finance dept. It took about an hour to talk to them. They gave me a pager, and when the had an opening in the finance dept. they paged me.

From my shopping, high volume Texas dealerships will only budge $500 max, but a lot of the time they won't at all. They did give me more on the trade than anywhere else.

At the place I went to, American Auto Brokers in San Antonio, I traded in and was on the way home within an hour, including a 20 minute test drive. If they have what you want, it really is the best option because normal dealerships are gonna try to rob you blind on both the trade and sale
