I forgot what I used to use. I know encoding was slow as hell. Hoping with the SSD and RAM bump it may increase a little.

I know DVDs are ancient technology, but we use them in the car on trips.

I use Ideal DVD copy.

Never given me a problem and has been able to copy every DVD thrown at it. Have recommended it to several people who all like it. Reasonable 1 time fee.

I used a free one yesterday took five hours to convert from MKV to MP4 only to find out it had to be in VOB to go to DVD. Stupid thing.

I had a paid one before. In 2014 you think there would be a decent fast video file to DVD maker.

Worst is. I have NO use for DVDs, every TV in my house is hooked to a pc.
I'm doing this for friends.
(kind of why I'm leaning to free options)

Have you considered using a small media player and outputting to the video inputs in the DVD player? I did this in ours and it works beautifully for.mkv rips. Also installed a Wii, too. Kids love the game option.

I need a ripper.
can't believe I downloaded that lol
Man, hate to say, but Windows has a free burner.
It's the ripping that is hard to do.

The people asking me for the DVDs, in the year 2014 have just gotten email, and do not have computers.
It's like people I know stuck in the 90's
They watch DVDs. I always tell them about how I have seen all these movies and how I have all these movies.
They just asked for Neighbors and Winter Soldier. Just trying to burn two dvds.

Used to be easy when I had my last computer that came with a program.
