So I need to help plan a bachelor party. He wants to go deep sea fishing and catch the sport fish like tuna and marlin. He was thinking Venice. What are some recommendations? What kind of costs am I looking at? Around 10 people going.

Other locations will be considered.

10 people is going to be a lot on a boat. and marlin fishing can get boring if they aren't into it, plus at least 3 will get seasick/drunk and start puking everywhere.

Call up Lance Walker from Fish Commander. He is running some bigger boats these days out of Grand Isle/Fourchon, but not sure if they could accommodate 10.

We just did a trip like this for my brother's bachelor party however we used a friends sport fisher. We paid fuel and food and they took us out. Burned $2,000.00 in fuel but did an overnight trip trolling both days. I looked at a few of the charter links on Cypress Cove Marina's website and the going rate seems to be $1500 plus fuel, bait ice for a day trip and $2500 plus fuel, bait, ice for over night trip. I don't think you will be able to put 10 guys on any of them though. We were on a 46' bertram and it was tight with 8.

I just texted the guy and he said that was for 2 nights. I figured we would be tired at 2 nights of this. What is generally recommended for tuna? 12 hr,16,24?

Probably seems a smidge low when you include everything. But that's probably a close enough number, though when arranging it, I told people $500 to be safe.

We're going next weekend with Paradise Outfitters (6 people), $2,000 (gas, bait, ice, fish cleaning included), + Tip, we're staying at Venice Marina the night before $160/night.

That still won't sleep 10 plus a captain and a mate. unless you have like 4 guys sleeping on a floor.

Take shifts. OP's request is for something enigmatic--an overnight charter out of LA for 10 people is basically non-existent. He might be able to work out a deal with two catamarans. I know Lance and Reel Addiction will co-op on that sometimes.

To be fair it is 10 people total in the party but some may not come.

Thanks. Is that 4k plus fuel or 4k with fuel? I'm guessing 4k plus fuel making it around 6k.
