Friend is selling his for $100 and I'm thinking about buying it. HEre are the specs:

900mm 4.5" diameter it is a very powerful telescope. So powerful it has the fine tune flexible knobs to turn scope in order to keep up with earth rotation while viewing planets and stars.

JC Penny. got it around 1975.

JC Penny. I'm interested in buying it. Just asking you guys who know about these things if its a good deal. Figure it is 40 years old but it seems like it was a nice one and taken care of well over the years.

It might be worth the $100 as a collectors item. I wouldn't expect mu quality from it though. If you want a telescope to actually use, spend another $150 for a decent intro model from Orion.

Or even better yet, spend another $60 and try this one:

yeah, that is the one. Was going to offer him $75 and figure if I didn't like it, could give to my homeschooled nephews who live out in the country.
