$19 and $29 for digital/mobile subscription for a year. 80% off.
I have no affiliation or interest - just hate paying $200 a year for digital subscriptions. Thought I'd share the info.
If you like politics, do it! Do it!

Thanks for sharing. I like WaPo.

I received the same offer through email.
I like politics but hate WaPo.
<-----won't be subscribing.

I like WaPo too but I can't recall ever getting a paywall, so not sure if this is worth it.

The Blaze Network (Glenn Beck) is offering a great deal too, Want; you'd learn a lot more from Beck...than another MSM rag spouting/spinning Statist propaganda.
Thanks anyway.

You typically get (its like this with NYT too) 10 or 20 stories a month you can read - after that they block you.

that is a really good deal but I just rather not read the washington post.

I sort of figured that, some tell you (you have X remaining), but I've never gotten it from the Post. Maybe I just don't read it enough. RCP and Twitter are usually my aggregators for political news.

Their paywall is stupid. I read the Volokh Conspiracy multiple times a day, and I was pissed when they announced WaPo was putting them behind a paywall.
I'll go without before I pay for internet content. shite, Google news already gives me WSJ content for free.

Yeah. I'm not saying it's your responsiblity, but the "free" aspect is why news, music, and entertainment in general sucks arse today. Content creators are not getting paid.

Like I said, I only read Volokh. Volokh was always a group of law professors and legal commentators that provided their assessment of relevant legal topics for free through the blog. WaPo wanted their blog, and paid them for it. I now visit WaPo multiple times a day, and I am subjected to their ad content - where I wasn't previously.
Now, something I have always had for free, and something that was volunteered to, now will require me to pay to access. No thank you.

news sucks but music, movies and tv are all knocking it out of the park today.

I'll pass on getting any DNC newsletters.

Off topic: What music is knocking it out of the park? I'd like to hear it.

my fav albums of the year.
War on Drugs - Lost in a dream
alt-country/rock
LINK
Broken Bells - After the disco
Nu-disco
LINK
Future Islands - I can't remember the name of the album
pop
LINK
I also really like Kishi Bashi (orchestral pop) and woods (alt-rock/folk) albums from this year. From last year, portugal the man (rock), phospherescent (alt-country), waxahatchee (folk), deerhunter (alt-rock/psychedelia).
Honestly music just keeps on getting better and better. This year might be one of the best on record as Tv on the radio, Rural Alberta Advantage, we were promised jetpacks (best band name ever), and caribou all are putting out new albums.
eta: go to the music board and ask. they are really nice over there, unlike here

Ok I have 2 of 3 of those records. I prefer the Shins but....BB is good too. I just wanted to make sure you weren't saying Beiber was knocking it out of the park.
But: those guys aren't making any money..which was my point. Mid level artist don't make squat.
I think it came out a while ago but The Hold Steady Teeth Dreams is brilliant- you may like it.

well artists at that level never really made any money anyway, especially off album sales. they are better off since show attendance is way up. But that requires constant touring for $$.
I like the hold steady.
Check out that phospherescent if you liked the war on drugs. its really fanastic too.
