Deputies said a Roebuck woman is in custody after a pill bottle filled with her urine tested positive for methamphetamine.

Spartanburg County deputies said an officer on patrol spotted a car pull up to a dilapidated house for sale along Bryant Road, so he stopped to see what was going on.

According to the deputy's report, he waited for a few minutes then, "fearing that the vehicle was at the property for nefarious purposes," he drove up to talk with the people in the car.

Deputies encountered a man and woman who said they were looking at the house, considering to buy it, according to the report. But the deputy said he recognized the woman from previous encounters involving drugs and called for backup.

The pair were in a friend's car, so deputies said they called him to ask for permission to search the vehicle, and he agreed.

When additional deputies along with a K-9 officer arrived, the report said the dog alerted to something in the center console. Deputies said they found several items of drug paraphernalia inside and upon a search of both people, they found more items in the woman's purse.

The woman, identified as 33-year-old Cindy Wingo, said the pill bottle was her daughter's, deputies said. According to the report the label was for ADHD medicine capsules but there was a liquid inside.

Deputies said Wingo admitted it was her urine but would not give a straight answer as to why it was in her daughter's prescription bottle. According to the report, the deputy knew urine is sometimes saved by methamphetamine users so the drug can be extracted from the liquid for more meth.
