Not sure if they're cool around here or whatever, but their new album "Somewhere Under Wonderland" comes out September 2nd. I've always been a fan so I pre ordered it and got to listen to one of the released songs "Palisades Park".

Interesting, very long song (8:21) and reminds me of Thunder Road. Nostalgic. Very open and free lyrics with no pattern and occasional rhyming. Has a catchy chorus every now and then.

Here's the official video (movie really) - Palisades Park

Anyways I'll probably do an Album review like I did for NICKEL CREEK's new album.

Stay tuned.

Saw Adam Duritz few years ago at Jazz Fest. We were at Louisiana Music Factory and he came walking by us....whitest dude I've ever seen. Later that night we were at Jacque Imos and he and the band were eating at the table next to us. Dude could put down some crawfish

They've also released Scarecrow from the album, which is going to be their first radio single instead of Palisades Park. Much more mainstream, so probably a good call, though I enjoy PP more.

I'm looking forward to the album. I wasn't a huge fan of their Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings album, but their first three albums are favorites of mine.

Don't really keep up with Counting Crows, but I pretty much grew up listening to them. Despite that, I have always been a huge fan of their song lyrics and the emotion Duritz sings them with. Good stuff.

Dude's music career(albeit stellar), takes a backseat to his dating career..

Every time I think of Counting Crows, I always think of this great SNL sketch.

I saw them in concert 2 weeks ago, they were amazing, and they did 4 or 5 songs from the new album. It wasn't as good as the stuff from August and Everything After but then again what music really is?

I thought the new stuff had a kinda americana/folksy sound, at least compared to recent releases. I liked most of the new tracks, and I generally hate hearing new album cuts live in a large venue.
