At what level has Jamey Johnson's music been whitewashed by Nashville?

His 2011 album was not given a CMA nomination

Radio stations at some point stopped playing his music

I'm surprised the Nashville PTB's haven't had him snatched, thrown in the trunk of a car and taken out to the woods and shot

Gotta sell that new country music to 14 year old girls somehow. Can't have any real country artists clogging up the system.

I'll see you on the music board soon.

But to answer your question, it'll be no time until you hear the new Jamey Johnson cut where he and Snoop Dogg sing about being counry as frick y'all!

Jamey Johnson is a dick. He shows up and sometimes plays 5 or 6 songs, calls out audience members for taking phone pics, gets them kicked out and generally does not give a frick. I guess the industry said if you're gonna act like that, then we don't GAF either. He's not willing to play (which can be a good thing), then they are not willing to play either.

That Lonesome Song is one of my favorite country albums of all time. It's as sold from front to back as you can get, not a bad track on it. Even his effort previous to that, The Dollar, had some pretty good songs. But I just could not get into The Guitar Song. A couple of the tracks were decent, but my favorite track from the entire two albums was his cover of Set 'Em Up Joe. Maybe it's just because I had such high hopes after That Lonesome Song.

But he needs to get his crap together and release some more music, need more like him.

Used to really like Jamey Johnson. That lonesome song was so damn good. Hate to hear he's a douche (if true).

I've seen Johnson twice, Jazz Fest and a few months ago at GA Theatre.

Both were solid shows.

He's already teamed up with Snoop Dog (w Willie and Kris) on Roll me up and smoke me when I die

I find his recorded stuff hit and miss, but he has enough good stuff to put on a good show.

He wasn't an a-hole at either show I attended ... despite the fisticuffs and cat fight that took place at the GA Theatre.

Singing You should have seen it in color with his Dad and his daughter (10ish?) was poignant*.

*I can't believe I just used the word poignant on the MB.

That's a load of shite. Nashville has an amazing scene. Johnson chose his path.

Jamey Johnson puts on the worst live performance I've ever seen.

ETA: He got boo'd off stage about an hour in.

He's caught up in some contract battle right now. He can't release any new music until its settled. He's not even writing right now.

Really wouldn't surprise if we've seen the last of Jamey Johnson unfortunately

"The Last Cowboy" is one of my favorite songs

"Is there a place I can find any 3/4 time anymore?
Is there a dirty juke box that spins on a dime anymore?"

Absolutely incredible lyrics

Jamey Johnson is the last real country singer period. It's a damn shame he doesn't get more play on the radio.

Did Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson die or retire?
