That is just absurd. Minnesota would be a hell of a watch with Lavine and Wiggins running the break.

This is freaking stupid man

I'd pay to see the warm ups if Wiggins went there

He also needs to work on getting more than 2 inches off the ground while shooting a jump shot!

The only thing is he hasn't gotten better since he came to the NBA. I know he is only 23 but damn he has been basically the same player since he was 17! I think people don't really respect him because he doesn't get any better year after year.

ETA: Plus he is a GREAT passer but he cannot shoot for shite, its VERY bad!

He's not exactly in the best of situations, but I agree with your assessment. He reminds me a little of Tony Parker before Chip Engelland retooled his jumper.

Rubio is a better passer than Tony was, but Tony was a better finisher. If Rubio can develop a semi-reliable shot, it'll change the way teams guard him.

no one who has a career shooting percentage of 36.8% is criminally underrated

He has ZERO midrange jumper, like he shoots maybe one every 2-3 games. Its either a layup or something around the 3 point line and that is it. IF he can develop one it would go a long way but he already only shoots around 30% from the field, and it doesn't seem like he ever tries to get better, so I doubt it will ever happen. Its a shame because when he was 17-18 years old I thought he was going to develop into an all-star.

How dare you compare them! There were a few years where Parker could have led the NBA in scoring if he wanted to, Rubio SUCKS at scoring! Not to mention TP was leading his team to NBA championships at like age 20. The ONLY similarities are they are foreign PGs. Seriously this might be the worst comparison I have ever heard and I never thought I would say that about one of your posts!

I was comparing their lack of a jumpshot more than anything. Parker had a repertoire of finishing moves to die for coming into the league, but the knock on him was that he couldn't shoot.

People forget that Tony had some major disappearing acts in his early years. Remember 2003? Yeah, Speedy Claxton was the PG leading us in crunch time against the Nets, and he was yanked in favor of Steve Kerr to close out the Mavs in the WCF. 2005? Same deal, his shortcomings were masked by Beno Udrih's steadiness and Ginobili going nova. He didn't truly lead the team to a title until 2007.

I know my Spurs, man. Tony's lack of a jumpshot was something teams preyed on until Chip fixed it. Like I said, I was only comparing Parker's and Rubio's lack of a reliable J.

Maybe so but Parker does have a J now and I highly doubt that Rubio will ever get one. Oh....and don't be hating on Speedy! You can hate on Steve "PLO" Kerr all you want but leave Speedy out of it!

Yeah, Parker was lost in the jumper dept. until Engelland came along. He helped fix Tim Duncan's free throws and retooled Kawhi Leonard's release as well.

And I loved Speedy and Kerr!!! Especially the latter. Steve was on our 1999 team and honestly idk if we beat the Mavs in '03 without him ambushing them off the bench in game 6 going 4-4 from downtown. One of the most incredible performances I've ever witnessed

He's definitely worked on that. That was one of the things that most impressed me about him in the summer was how high he got on his shot, makes it nearly unblockable now

He's like the Noah of PGs... Doesn't get that many points, but gets a lot of everything else and contributes across the board. Unorthodox stat line for sure, but very unique and impressive in it's own way. 10ppg, 9 assists, 4 Rebs, and 2.3 steals per game. That's contributing a lot of diff ways. 2.3 steals per game is a frick ton, 2nd most per game behind CP. And he had the most steals on the year with 191 on the season. Thad Young was 2nd at 167. CP was hurt and missed some games.

I'm with you that he's underrated. People look at his ppg and fg% and put too much stock in them. I agree his FG% is bad and he should be doing better than 38%. But I also think he needs to improve on his shot selection. And sometimes he looks to pass the ball too much and misses an opportunity at an easy bucket. But he's 1 of the most creative players in the nba with the ball in his hands.

Rubio, LaVine(freak), Wiggins, Dieng, and Pek.... Fast break from hell with a half court monster in Pek. And a defensive monster in Dieng. And he can run as well. Future is bright for the TWolves, with or without KLove.

Assuming Kobe is not healthy again, Minny is winning the ship this year.

I think compares more favorably Jason Kidd. Even when Parker's long jump shot was shaky, he mid range game was still solid and he knew how to finish around the basket.

Ironic given how fervently SA pursued Kidd in the 2003 offseason.
