I'm sick of studios milking franchises and splitting movies that are already sequels into parts.

Worst book I've ever read, and they're making 2 movies out of it

Regarding The Hunger Games:

I've never read the books. IMO, I can't stand the movies. I just don't get them. They're all terrible, IMO.

It's ridiculous that this movie is being split. The final Harry Potter actually needed to be split, since it had 4 hours worth of plot that could not be abbreviated. This movie though could easily be told in 2 and a half hours.

Wait, what? Next to the Prisoner of Azkaban, that was the best one.

Yeah, it's slow, but everything you're shown in that movie is important to the plot and characters. I really don't think they wasted a moment in that movie.

I disagree with you. PoA was the best. OotP was second. To each his own. I thought DH part one was the worst not counting the first two, but I did not read the books.

If you watch both together, it's pretty good. I saw part 1 in the theater and I was just disappointed. I hate cliffhangers, though. Maybe I'm just bias in that area.

Catching Fire (the movie) was a huge improvement over the uneven first movie. It as actually quite enjoyable except the ending was incredibly abrupt. It was just getting interesting when they finally got to the "Games" and then boom, it was over.

The book reading may be where we differ the most, since it was a really solid adaptation of that portion of the book. Part 2 was solid as well... until it shite the bed in the finale. The finale in the book merely consists of Voldemort and Harry circling each other with Harry carefully explaining to Voldemort why it's not feasible he can win the duel, and then there's a single curse between the two of them, and Voldemort is killed as everyone looks on and celebrates.

Instead the movie does a ridiculously over the top duel where they go all over the castle, Harry thrusts himself and Voldemort off a god damn cliff face for no reason, and then Harry kills him with no one watching and no one gives a shite. The book version is clearly the superior version since it's plot and character driven, while the movie version is a pointless action scene. The movie itself justifies its pointlessness, which makes it terrible.

I actually loved the book- Mockingjay. I found it incredibly moving, especially at the end. There was certainly plenty of skin in the game at that point.

Yea, the debate is pretty much mute because I didn't read the books. I enjoyed the concepts of OotP. The fights at the end, Harry teaching everyone spells, I really enjoyed that movie. The Dumbledore and Voldemort fight was awesome.

As far as adapting the books into film, Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Deathly Hallows Part 1 did the best job of remaining faithful to the source material.

Deathly Hallows Part 2 was amazing...until the final fight between Harry and Voldemort that completely went against what was in the books and also went against the point of their confrontation.

Is this a joke? That book was pure shite, horrible story and shitty writing. How many times can you pass out in a fight and survive?
