My 2 year old decided our MacBook was thirsty.

She dumped a cup of water on it while closed and now it won't come back on. Any remedies? Or am I looking at buying a new one?

Depends on the amount of water... It's worth it to have it looked at.

I had a buddy spill coke (gatorade dont remember) and he shut it off and took the hard drive and stuff out pretty quickly. The computer worked. Wasnt 100% but it still got the job done.
He didnt turn it back on for a few days

Unplug and remove the battery (if you can) and then hold down the power button for 30 seconds to discharge all capacitors. Only do this if you can remove the battery. Not sure if Apple did a retarded thing and made the battery removable only with the right tool.
I'd also take the keyboard off. Basically unscrew everything that is relatively easy to disassemble with tools on hand and the help of online tutorials.
Then place in front of a box fan or similar for a day or two. If it doesn't power on after that, you are probably fricked.
When the water was poured, was the computer asleep/on standby or completely off?

Maybe a wheelbarrow full of rice?
Try this first before taking it anywhere. You would be surprised what a whole bunch of rice can do for electronics.

I find it hilarious that the first thing you did was try to get power circulating through it. If it wasn't dead, it sure is now.

Not necessarily... but... probably.
Time to teach the toddler basic computer care.
Step 1: Computer don't like water. Water make computer sad.
