Air conditioner drain issues

Need some help.
My air conditioner pan has filled several times. Ive unclogged the drain with coat hangers and shop vacs. It works a while then fills pan again.
I worked it over last night with shop vac for a while. got what appeared to be a goid flow in the drain, but when i spit in the drain it sucked the spit back towards the unit in the pipe.
Also i can feel suction on the pipe at the tee.
Wtf??

I don't know about ANY kind of suction, but pour a little purex bleach down your drain.

Yep, bet you have algae growth, bleach and if you have an air compressor, after the bleach, blow out the line...

Tried bleach.
Im assuming the suction is from the unit pulling out out tiwards the vents. The flow is under the air suction.

You must have a vent tee installed after the trap portion of the drain. If that doesnt fix the issue then you can put one before if you wish. The vents will bleed off the vacuum.

Posted befor I saw that pic. Thats pretty fricked up amd will require a thorough cleaning to make sure the water is able to make it out of the main pan. You have a main pan built I to the unit and a catch pan under with a float switch to shut the unit down once filled up. Catch pan should never have any water in it.

Yea. The catch pan has filled up 4x. Thought i had it fixed a couple weeks ago but last two days its filled up again by 8pm.
Seeing as how the catch pan and sensor are my last line of defense before a major sheetrock overhaul, im tryin to get this shite right.
Fwiw, someone has been inside this unit before from the looks of the screws and there was an old water mark in ceiling when i biught the place.

I had a similar problem. I don't know about suction, mine was gravity flow. You have to unstop the drain line to the outside. I believe I used a garden hose to flush to line. Then put a chlorine tablet in the pan to stop future algae buildups.

If the drain has a p-trap on the line and you sucked the water out of the trap while trying to unclog it will try to pull the water back into the unit if the coil is before the blower. If you have a tee before the trap it should be capped.

If it has a p trap bleach clean then hold your hand over end of the drain to allow p trap to fill with water then you should be good to go
