4 hours and 2 fish later...it's too dang hot to fish

Woke my little one up this morning and was on the water at 6:30am. Fishing off the porch for perch, bream or anything else that will bite enough to entertain a 7 year old.
We tried live minnows, worms and even hot dogs and ended up with 2 little perch.
I broke out the tackle box and tried beetle spins, crank baits and a few top water baits.
No luck today but did get some quality outdoor time with my little man

I've been entertaining my 6yr old nephew. My sister wanted me to bring a fishing pole while we went out to find alligators. I denied the fishing pole idea and we just paddled around. Today was actually one of the more cooler this summer... had a nice breeze. Kinda of wished I had though, some guys we saw out on the water was at the landing when we got back. They ran out of crickets after catching 40 bream, they sent someone in a truck to load up on more crickets.
