We didn't even tackle that hard.

I swear, looking back at that whole ordeal, I'm amazed how the initial story put out stuck so well in everyone's minds. It was an excellent example of brainwashing. Supposedly the Saints were taking out players left and right, and yet there's no video evidence of it. The only thing that came close was the NFCCG.

So, 90% of bounty hate was off the field

You mean they don't give a shite because ray rice's wife isn't a football player

It's mind blowing, I wish during that 2012 season I could have chilled with coach over some beers asking his opinion over the whole bounty gate crap. Do y'all remember the power points showing the evidence? Looked like a 3rd grader did it. And fricking Rice only gets 2 games for beating the shite out of a woman, I don't care if she hit him first, at least make sure there are no cameras...... I mean, just walk away.

That slide show stuff was a joke, and reporters were saying "Pretty damning evidence."

They're letting the authorities handle it.

Would you prefer our players be arrested for the Bounty allegations?

The legality isn't in question. The NFL didn't come
Out and say they didn't want to get sued. Human Decency was their position. They were in a position to curb the violence of the game (violence they profit from) If I take the NFL at their word, then they're being philosophically inconsistent

Regardless this doesn't even merit discussion

Ray rice - beats wife - 2 game suspension

Donald jones - "OMG" "Horrible" - suspended indefinitely, sent to counseling

Sean Payton - his DC talked tough - 16 game suspension

Jon Vilma - not even sure he did ANYTHING - 16 game suspension

Bountygate has nothing to do with my thinking that this seems light.
Stomp on a players arm in game get 2 games.
Knock the f@ck out of your wife get two games.
Not sure thats right to me.

Agreed on general disdain for Peter King, but what did Payton do to blackball him?

And what role did he have in Bounty Gate?

Payton took exception to his Bountygate reporting and refused any further interviews with him. King mentioned it in one of his articles, said something like I wish I could get Payton's take on this but I don't think he'll be speaking to me for a long time.

Yeah.

King practiced horrible journalism and wrote a scathing article about the bounty system, going simply off the NFL's "findings." As time went on, we found out that most of what the NFL claimed didn't really happen.

This is one of the worst threads on here but domestic abuse, drugs and severe injuries on the field. Two of these can easily be fixed. You cant unfix a broken vertebrae

Really? Because what I see, are a bunch of repeat offenders in the NFL regarding substance abuse. A substantial number of players engaging in violence off the field.

And who the frick sustained a broken vertebrae from a Saints game tied to Bounty Gate?
