I drove by there last night and the building looked like a dump. I have a hard time believing it will be ready for the start of football season. Does anyone know what's going on over there? Was there a fire during renovations?

Last I heard they had a ton of issues getting building permits from the city, no chance they are open by the first game.

Yea this. Other bars hate competition and there is also the "are you a bar or are you a restaurant" caveat that plagues BR. I hate this city and its antiquated liquor laws. Get the frick over it bible thumpers.

I called to see if I could have my rehearsal dinner there on August 21st. The manager told me that they ran into a ton of issues and will not be open by then.

figures, Baton Rouge city/parish government is a complete shite show, and the state licensing board for liquor licenses is no better.

Curbside burgers and frites back in BR. The NOLA location is a fun place to hang out. Will be a million times better than Serrano's ever was.

Serranos in Metry was gross; never went to the one in BR because of that.

The food was pretty awful. We'd still go back when I was in college because we knew half the waitstaff and would drink for free.

Well since everyone loves to bash BR and it's antiquated laws have you ever tried to get a drink in New York City before noon on a Sunday? You can't. It's against the law.

Bump

Drove by it today and it doesn't look anywhere close. Anyone know if they will be done by football season? I need a new post football game spot and figured that this would be open in time, but now I'm not so sure.

I hope Barcadia serves as a good post game spot. Whenever Serrano's was packed it was fun as shite

I think by virtue of the location alone, it will serve as a fine post game watering hole.

I'm more concerned with the daily operations. Will it be 21+ or 18+ at night? It is so close to the frat houses that this place could turn into d-bag central. We'll see.

I would imagine neither?

ETA: Nola location is 21+ after 9:00 p.m.

What does any of this have to do with building permits? Are they having a heard time with the liquor license?
