We may be the 3rd largest stadium in the SEC, 6th largest in the US... and that doesn't feel like much does it?

Tiger stadium is the 9th largest stadium IN THE WORLD

12,406. That is roughly the number of stadiums in THE WORLD.

There are 12,397 Stadiums with smaller capacity than Tiger Stadium.

Tiger Stadium is larger than 99.92% of all stadiums in the world.

That's all.. carry on..

Four of the largest stadiums will be in the SEC and 3 will be in the SEC West. Tennessee in the SEC East and LSU, Alabama, and Texas A&M in the SEC West.

SRO is counted. As stadium capacity. This will be the first year we count it. But its funny because tamu fans were bitching about it when they have SRO as well. A long with several other stadiums in the sec.

We will be second in the SEC, behind Tenn by only 134 souls.

ETA: for a year until TAMU is done.

We will be second after TAMU is done, we are third until they are done.

Here's a few more awesome numbers.

LA 2012 population was 4.6 million. With the new stadium capacity of 102,321 Tiger Stadium will hold 2.2% of the population of Louisiana.

If going by population within city limits, at full capacity Tiger Stadium will be the 6th largest city in the state when full. One spot above Lake Charles.

If going by metro area, Tiger Stadium becomes the 9th largest population center in the state when full. One spot ahead of Ft. Polk.

the stadium thing is a little off as none of those calculating include race tracks. indianapolis motor speedway, for instance, holds 257k people

The LSU Athletic marketing department would be proud. Unfortunately, they can't come up with any of this on their own.

Not in the official capacity of 102,321. SRO will be offered for big games though, so we should exceed that figure.

At least before halftime.

The smaller, open-ended stadiums have the most SRO. South Carolina, according to their fans, has 5,000 SRO spaces available. Mizzou may have even more, in the grassy area where the rock M is. Which is far in excess of the 1,500 or so TAMU and LSU have or will have available.

Where do these magical SRO tickets come from? I've never seen or heard of these even being offered for sale.

Alleva specifically said the 102,000 number they put out does not include SRO
