I've only witnessed it in football and baseball. Does it happen in other youth sports? Daddy ball is one thing that you have to expect favoritism somewhat.

Had a kid in youth sports. Now in school ball.

Your kid is fastest by far on the football team. Ever sees the field.

I have coached twenty seasons of high school sports. I see a lot of favoritism in daddy ball youth sport programs, but not very much at all in high school.

I had plenty of parents complain about favoritism but those were the parents of the weaker players.

Ive seen well to do parents, socially close parents kids get the most action by far.
Team gets a group of friends together to form a team and needs a few more kids to make that team a possibility. Extra kids get shafted.

Sons youth fb team is the opposite. One of the best kids is the hc son. He's hesitant to play him as much as he should so that there's more available pt for the runts.
