Anyone recommend any of the local Baton Rouge RV dealers who rent?

years ago, I used to rent from a guy who owned several rv's, I think he is in Denham Springs, his RV's are all used but certainly of tailgate quality, the cool thing about the set up was that you can send him your RV pass, he and his crew go wait in line at o dark thirty for a good spot, leave the AC on, and you show up and start tailgating, although he leaves the keys in the ignition, I rented from him for several years and never even cranked one up, you just get your shite and leave the next day, he charged a small cleaning fee(rental was from Fri.-Sun.,) I'll see if I can find his info and post it

I thought about doing this as a business and was wondering if it was profitable.

I know the owner of Southern RV and was talking to him about this one day. He said he looked into it and the insurance you'd need on any RV you rent out kills almost all the profit. Insurance companies don't really trust people to safely drive 40ft RVs. Can't say I blame them.

I mean dropping the RV's off at tailgates for football games, then coming to pick them up on Sunday. Basically buying a RV and renting it out 4-5x a year for LSU home games. I don't know if it would be profitable in a place like Baton Rouge because there are plenty of places to get hotel rooms. There are some college football towns that the stadiums hold 100K+ but don't have the hotel rooms to cater to such large crowds. I know RV's would be at least break even in those situations.

the guy that I mentioned in the above post has been doing that since at least when I was at LSU('70's,) but he also has an RV repair business, I doubt he makes a living on just that, but it's like a guaranteed portion of his annual income that he can rely on, RV's depreciate pretty rapidly, and you could get a few reasonably priced, my concern would be the politics of trying to horn in on the business, the TAF runs that operation like the mob, which is basically why I got out and stopped renting

I used the RV shop in Baton Rouge, I gave them my RV after the first game and they were to clean it and bring it to my spot every Friday night. It was a disaster, every single week there was a problem, whether it be them forgetting to put the AC on to forgetting to fill it up with enough fuel to keep the generators running. i stopped using them after week 4
